Is Store and Insure storage insurance any good?

Store and Insure's main selling point is Lloyd's of London underwriting, which gives the policy solid financial backing. Independent review volume is thin, however, so there isn't yet a large body of customer feedback to judge service quality on — worth bearing in mind.

How much does Store and Insure storage insurance cost?

Cover is priced from around £2 a week based on £1,000 of declared value, with the full premium (including Insurance Premium Tax) shown upfront. As a guide, the site has quoted roughly £8.90 for £3,000 of goods and about £21.52 for £10,000 over a month. There's no minimum term.

What does Store and Insure cover?

  • Fire, flood, theft, explosion, lightning, escape of water and civil commotion
  • Insects and vermin damage
  • New-for-old replacement
  • Cover for goods in transit to and from storage
  • Fixed-term or rolling monthly cover

Store and Insure pros and cons

Pros

  • Full price shown upfront, IPT included
  • No minimum term — monthly or fixed-term

Cons

  • £250 excess unless your facility is an SSA or BAR member (then nil)
  • Jewellery, watches and mobiles capped at £500

Our verdict on Store and Insure

A budget, Lloyd's-backed choice for basic household storage. Check whether your facility is an SSA or BAR member to avoid the £250 excess, and mind the low single-item limits if you're storing anything valuable.
